renacer/rebirth: wearing a decolonial cosmos (2015-)

this work is informed by my continued research on the spiritual practices my ancestors, embracing my idiosyncratic spirituality as a site of re-existence, and considering healing as radical self-care.
the headdress (steel mesh and thread) is a depiction of Indigenous Andean-Amazonian Cosmology: three spherical-cyclical space-time realms (ruled by the serpent, puma, and condor*) in a state of constant flux. *known in Quechua as Amaru, Puma, and Kuntur.
