birth of amaru negro (al lado del camino) (2019)
site specific performance with assemblages of decolonial brujerías. final thesis project, Integrated Media BFA OCAD University.
birth of amaru negro (al lado del camino) is a ritual for radical healing, rebirth, and the embodiment of multiple selves. surrounded by the high art institutions (OCADU + AGO), performing energetic exchanges with the trees, strong winds, non-human beings, and human witnesses too. reclaiming feeling and releasing fears. exploring narratives of pain and journeys to bodily autonomy, singing Fito Paez’s song “al lado del camino”.
